PAINTER

We are accepting applications to fill a part to full time position in our Paint Department .  As a member of the Gem State Manufacturing team you will be responsible for:

  • Operating spray equipment to paint surfaces of heavy equipment trailers as instructed
  • Mixing paint according to Manufacturer recommendations
  • Visually inspecting for quality of the paint applications and for even distribution of the paint
  • Operating cranes to move materials and equipment
  • Disassembling paint equipment and cleaning equipment and paint booth as instructed

Successful candidates for this position will have:

  • 3 years minimum painting experience with barrel paint system required
  • 3 years minimum painting trailer experience preferred
  • Knowledge of DuPont products preferred
  • Paint test will be required
  • Requires individual of minimum 18 years of age

FINAL ASSEMBLY/PREP TECHNICIAN

 

We are now accepting applications for a full time experienced Final Assembly Technician. As a member of the Final Assembly Team you will be responsible for:

  • Operating hand tools, power tools or production equipment to complete work in alloted time frame.
  • Reading and interpreting engineering specifications from text, drawings, and computer-aided drafting (CAD) systems.
  • Preparing products for the paint process by applying and removing chemicals to clean trailer of grease, dirt, mil scale and other residue.
  • Positioning components into final assembly fixture.
  • Assembling various parts on trailer.
  • Installing electrical circuitry and fixtures, plumbing and plumbing fixtures, tires and axles.
  • Measuring and cutting material to length.
  • Preparing surface prior to application of decals as well as installation of decals in appropriate locations.

Successful candidates for this position will have:

  • Experience in axle assembly and components
  • Experience in braking systems including air brake and electric brake systems
  • Experience in trailer lighting and electrical harnesses
  • Large trailer or vehicle experience preferred.
  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required.

EXPERIENCED WELDER NEEDED

We are now accepting applications for experienced Welders to fabricate high quality heavy equipment trailers. As a member of our Fabricating Team your responsibilities will include:

• Operating welding equipment, hand tools, power tools or production equipment to complete work in alloted time frame.
• Welding parts and sub assemblies to approved specifications using a MIG welder.
• Adjusting welding equipment to meet quality control standards
• Reading and interpreting engineering specifications from text, drawings, and computer-aided drafting (CAD) systems.
• Positioning components into fabrication fixture as instructed.
• Inspecting own work for accuracy and completion prior to signing process verification forms.



Successful candidates for this position will have:

• Experience and proficient in setting up equipment and welding heavy gauge steel using MIG welder
• Experience using welding robot preferred
• Minimum of 5 years welding experience with preferred 10 years welding experience
• Certified Welder preferred
• Welding test required
• Fabricating test may also be required
• High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required
• Minimum age of 18 required

PURCHASING

Gem State Manufacturing in Caldwell, Idaho is looking for the right person to fill an opening in our Purchasing department. We are looking for someone who is energetic and has a positive attitude to help our company grow.

Candidate should possess a background in manufacturing, ideally in the construction/transportation trailer industry and have exceptional communication, computer and organizational skills. 

Duties will include:

  • Order all raw materials and supplies to maintain the production needs of the company on a consistent basis.
  • Enter purchase orders with necessary information into the computer system.
  • Ensure the timely delivery of company ordered merchandise from vendors.
  • Identify alternative vendors who can meet Gem State Manufacturing's required quality, price, and service standards.
  • Monitor expenditures to stay within predetermined budgets.
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with vendors.
  • Maintain sufficient inventory of supplies and material to keep production operating without interruption and to minimize inventory costs.
  • Monitor all open purchase orders and contact suppliers when shipping dates require a change.
  • Ensure that all paperwork requirements from the purchasing function are accurately completed and forwarded to the accounting department within established time frames.

We offer extensive training in products to be represented as well as all aspects of the job, you just need to have a positive attitude, enthusiasm and a strong work ethic.

A minimum of five (5) years purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment is required. Preference will be given to bachelor's degree but is not required

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

We are accepting applications for an experienced Administrative Assistant .  As a member of the Gem State Manufacturing team you will be responsible for:

Assisting the company president in organizing work day, scheduling time effectively, and communicating with various contacts

  • Tracking, organizing and reporting various project's status as assigned
  • Performing various clerical duties including but not limited to writing correspondence, creating various reports, maintaining filing systems, etc
  • Assisting with the Operations department in processing purchase orders, creating routers, filing correspondence and drawings, etc
  • Answering and screening phone calls as well as transferring validated phone calls to appropriate personnel
  • Maintaining extreme confidentiality on sensitive matters

Successful candidates for this position will have:

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
  • 5 years minimum experience in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook required
  • 2 years experience in manufacturing/fabricating setting preferred
  • Large trailer or vehicle experience preferred.
  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required. 
  • Associates degree desired.
